- Ethical hacking, scope and rules of engagement
- Kali Linux setup, updates and tool categories
- Linux command line, file system and permissions
- Bash basics for automating tasks
- Hands-on Lab: Configure your Kali machine and complete a Linux command-line challenge
Day 2:Reconnaissance & OSINT
- Passive vs active reconnaissance
- OSINT with whois, DNS tools, theHarvester and Google dorking
- Mapping the attack surface
- Documenting findings from day one
- Hands-on Lab: Run a full OSINT and DNS reconnaissance exercise on a lab target
Day 3:Scanning & enumeration
- Network scanning with Nmap: host discovery, ports, versions
- Nmap scripting engine (NSE)
- Enumerating SMB, FTP, SSH and HTTP services
- Traffic analysis with Wireshark
- Hands-on Lab: Scan the lab network and build a target list of vulnerable services
Day 4:Exploitation
- Vulnerability research and exploit selection
- Metasploit Framework: modules, payloads and sessions
- Password attacks with Hydra and John the Ripper
- Manual exploitation and reverse shells
- Hands-on Lab: Exploit two vulnerable lab machines using Metasploit and manual methods
Day 5:Web application attacks
- OWASP Top 10 overview
- Burp Suite: proxy, repeater and intruder
- SQL injection, XSS and file inclusion
- Directory brute-forcing with Gobuster and Nito
- Hands-on Lab: Find and exploit SQL Injection and XSS flaws in a vulnerable web app
Day 6:Post-exploitation & reporting
- Linux and Windows privilege escalation basics
- Maintaining access and covering tracks (lab only)
- Writing a professional penetration test report
- Capstone review and interview prep for pentest roles
- Hands-on Lab: Capstone: full black-box pentest and written report
